The One With The Marble Stone

She heard a lovely voice of her mom calling her from the kitchen. She instantly smiled, knowing this would be the best day of her life. As if her name was echoing all over inside the house, "Cynthia..". Cynthia was wide awake, but knowingly she didn't wake up because she knew her charming mother would be here with her birthday cake and surprises any moment. She turned sweet sixteen today and had planned on this day ever since.

She checked out all the birthday wishes and presents given by the well-wishers. Her height was a bit shorter than a normal sixteen-year-old girl, her pajamas bellowed and touched the carpet floor as she walked. Her hair bushier and without any care about her appearance, slightly jumping cheeringly, and slightly walking, she had an everlasting smile on her face. She had every reason to smile as it was her best day.

There was a strong urge of being loved as a princess aroused in her as soon as she saw the wonderful birthday gifts. After spending a few moments unwrapping the gifts, she stood up. Now, straightaway she headed towards her mother without uttering a word. She just submerged into her mother's arms as a restless river, submerging into the ocean. At first glance, Cynthia's mother looked as if she haven't aged a day after her marriage. An endless emotion procured in her mother to ask her, "are you, alright sweetie?".

It occurred that the girl didn't want that moment to pass by and she holds on to her mom as much as possible. Her mother told her about a special gift she had for her inside the cauldron (large brownish cupboard). The girl went past the room and flung open the cauldron at once. Now the smile on her face has increased three-fold as she saw a giant light pinkish teddy bear, with orb like huge eyes, nearly 5 feet in height.

It appeared the day was just getting started to Cynthia by looking at the new giant teddy bear. Her mother from behind the counter whispered, "wouldn't you give your new teddy a hug, sweetie??". Without wasting another second Cynthia disappeared into the soft, cozy, and warm teddy. The more she hugged it the better it felt but after a few seconds, she couldn't hear her mother's voice anymore.

She was so excited and engrossed about everything around her, she indulged her thoughts into nothing but her birthday party. Now the cauldron in which she was standing was getting colder. Even the teddy she had been hugging for a few minutes started turning colder, and hard. The warmth of the teddy bear been compromised but still, she didn't let it go. She couldn't bear the cold weather conditions around her and felt dizzy as if she would fall. She closed her eyes and everything went dark, engulfing herself into nothingness.

She woke up with shivers and found herself lay on the ground beside the marble stone stating, "Here lies the grave of Mrs. Cloe a beloved mother and a wonderful woman". She placed the flowers on the marble stone grave and said,"mom, it's my sixteenth birthday. I wished to get a hug from you. And I did. thank you for everything mom. I will stay strong as you said, always and forever"...
